Firefighters have rescued a pregnant horse after it fell into a
ditch.
Crews were called after a woman out riding her own horse noticed
the animal in the ditch unable to stand. It’s thought it had been
there for more than 12 hours.
When crews arrived they found the animal very weak, so working
alongside a vet and a team from Horseworld, they secured a harness
around the horse. Then using the hiab from the rescue tender they
were able to lift the animal to its feet.
After a short time the horse was able to stand on its own and
was left in the care of the vet and
Horseworld.
