Jon Day began his career with AF&RS in 1983
as a Firefighter at Avonmouth Fire Station.
During his 27 years with the AF&RS Jon has worked at most of
the Service's Wholetime stations as a Crew, Watch and Station
Manager in addition to a number of specialist posts across the
Service.
Jon is a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers, has a
Diploma in Management Studies and is currently on the Fire Service
Executive Leadership Programme.
As Director of Operations Response, Jon is responsible for
ensuring the necessary support is available to provide effective
and efficient delivery of services.

support to the senior management team and all our staff to ensure
that we continue to provide an excellent service to our
communities."
Jon is married with two children and lives in Bath.
